I will send my notebook to repair in Germany,
but I am not sure what the following sentence mean ?

For damages, that are not covered by the warranty, an estimate will be created. For the estimate you will be charged 72,- Euro (+ VAT plus) 15,- Euro (+ VAT plus) for the return shipping. If you do not wish to receive an estimate for such damages, please request this in the note you add for the Repair Centre.

我觉得ibm uk的意思是，

如果损坏不在保修范围内。如果你坚持要修理的话，他们要收 72 不含税的 检测费用 和15欧不含税的运费

字面上的意思是，如果你不想付这笔钱，请你把这个要求写在你给维修中心的说明上。
个人理解应该是如果你不想付这笔钱，那他们可以不帮你寄回来，你另外联系别的途径取回来。

如果你不需要他们帮你计算维修的费用，应该在包裹上写明。
这样，到时发现你的电脑问题不在保修范围之内，维修人员不会进一步检查，你也就不用付那72欧元加税了。

感觉不像是检查费用么，因为第一句写了是"for return shipping"的
从逻辑上确实理解成检修费的话第二句比较好理解。
维修的人会帮你检查，判断你的电脑损坏是不是在保修范围之内，如果不是，1.维修人员会帮你计算自费维修的费用，2. 运费要你自己付。

觉得应该是诊断费用。
之后的15欧是运费。

反正一定要写明不用他帮你诊断，如果不在保修范围内的话！

不然这，维修费用和零件会贵死的，呵呵
