面试 Vattenfall Energy Trading

下周要去汉堡Vattenfall Energy Trading 面试，是关于Portfoliomanagement方向的。不知有没有前辈有Energy Trading的面试经验。 通过之后还有AC， 希望谁经历过的，可以来传授一下经验。多谢了。

{:5_390:}去过，不过时间隔太久，具体细节忘光了。就记得光是个面试，到场的人比其他地方AC还多，好像是偶参加过的最隆重的一次面试。左边右边对面都坐了人，人人都有问题要问...

Assessment Center。就是群面，一般要一整天。包括Selbstpräsentation, Rollenspiel, Gruppenarbeit, Einzelinterview......

我就看到他上回偶然说到手上同时七八个项目
每天要处理几百封电邮
感情真是忙的团团转
难怪起薪可以有麦肯锡的水准{:5_370:}

和麦肯锡那没可比性……咨询公司的同事就坐我周围好几个，我是不知道他们每天几点来几点走的。
7，8个项目，不过每个周期都1年有余
几百个邮件，我这段时间自动分类后，清爽很多了{:5_360:}重要的就几十封吧
这个行业是新兴行业，不知道为什么应聘的人不多，大家都被投行金融的光环吸引过去了。
而且其实比起那些来不是很忙，东西也不复杂，老板好几个位置都招了半年都没人来。主要是一些工程和金融交叉的东西会的人还不是很多。

多谢大家留言，没想到有人也同样对Energy Trading感兴趣。新型行业，发展空间很大，但是起薪也没有多高，根本不能和麦肯锡比。我也不是学能源的，所以面试怕问到太专业的问题， 希望有经验的都来贡献面经。

meanpang, The capital market division at a large IB is extremely appealing for me, especially the quantitative roles like trader or quant. However, according to my experience, it's not the right time for me to apply and we have to wait until the next big hire. So i think, why not a power trader? A similar job, also quantitative, merely with new underlyings, and lucrative. To be honest, the starting salary is less important for me as the career developement in the lang run.Well, nothing is perfect, energy trading is less asian markets related and liberalisation is rather difficoult for china, from my point of view.

As i see, if i am not wrong, you have expierences mereky in sell-side. IB's have buy-side businesses as well, like overlay-funds, alternative investments, etc., it's also strong quantitative and maybe much more lucrativer than sell-side, i guess.Think about HF or PE, they doing the same buy-side things. So you can still stay in large IB without changing your trading underlyings. it's only my 2 cents.
You have anything against the buy-side career, or you think it's even not the right time to go there? like to hear your point

Nothing against buy-side. On the opposite, these topics interest me as well. As you see, i haven't expierenced the buy-side, so can't say something about it and HF is with the hpoe sth. in the far future for me.
