How can the Adaptive Cruise Control slow you down and speed you up when it can't drop or go up a gear?
You have to change gears yourself... ;)
Unlike previous Cruise Control modes employed by Volvo changing gears doesn't disengage ACC. So you can change the gears while still using Cruise Control. If the engine drops below 1000 RPM due to automatic braking, ACC beeps and shuts off. Also, ACC only works above 30 km/h in cars with manual transmission - so you can't use it in stop-and-go traffic (Queue-Assist in Volvo speak).
Personally, I use ACC mainly on the highway. The D5 engine has a wide enough torque range that you can leave the engine in 6th gear from about 70-80 km/h upward - therefore not a lot of gear changing required at higher speeds... ;-)
How does City Safety stop you without the engine stalling?
Haven't tried that yet (hope I never will), but apparently the engine does stall in this case...
All in all, while Queue Assist is about the one thing that made me consider getting an automatic transmission, I'd still get the manual again. Just a lot more fun to drive that way :) :)

应该是问了，反正是要填个表，签个字。不过当时真的以为就是例行公事，疾病那一栏，没仔细看就过了，没想到和后面的测试有关
