据称，这位被怀疑是章子怡新男友的白人男子名叫查克·卡利奥（Tchéky Karyo,但普遍翻译成“切基·卡尤”），是一名法国演员，现年54岁。他出生于土耳其，在巴黎长大，身高一米八零。他的父亲是土耳其人，母亲是希腊人。查克从小就在法国著名的赛拉诺剧院学习表演。之后，他迅速成长，成为斯特拉斯堡国家剧院的签约演员，主演了诸如《麦克白》、《奥赛罗》等一系列经典剧目。成为法国最当红的演员之一。
近年来，他也前往好莱坞发展，并且曾经在《黄金眼》中出演一些小角色。之后他同梅尔·吉布森合作过《爱国者》等片。尤其值得一提的是，这位法国演员曾经和李连杰合作过《龙之吻》。这也是他同华人演员的唯一一次合作。
