The third installment of the successful spy franchise based on the Robert Ludlum novels.

Universal Pictures

Underdog

Rated: PG for rude humor, mild language and action

Walt Disney Pictures, Spyglass Entertainment

Bratz

Rated: PG for thematic elements

Based on the popular characters, "Bratz" follows four teenage girls who are from socially and economically diverse backgrounds. What they have in common is their wish to be themselves and realize their dreams and aspirations. They start their journey separated by high school cliques, only to realize that by becoming Bratz, their lives will be more fulfilling. A story of empowerment and wish fulfillment, told through a unique mix of song, dance, and of course, fashion.

Lionsgate

Becoming Jane

(limited; wide release: August 10)

Rated: PG-13 for brief nudity and mild language

"Becoming Jane" centers on a love affair British novelist Jane Austen (Hathaway) began as a 20-year-old -- with brilliant, roguish Irishman Tom Lefroy -- that inspired her career as one of the world's great romantic writers. The movie also looks at how the writer's relationship with Lefroy helped create the male characters in "Pride & Prejudice."

Miramax Films

The Ten

(NY, LA; expansion: August 17)

Rated: R for pervasive strong crude sexual content including dialogue and nudity, and for language and some drug material

"The Ten" is comprised of ten blasphemous and hysterical stories inspired by the Biblical Commandments, each told in a different style, but with characters and themes that overlap. The film is held together by a narrator who, in turn, has his own moral problems.

THINKFilm

El Cantante

Rated: R for drug use, pervasive language and some sexuality

A biopic on Hector Lavoe, who was one of the biggest Spanish-language singers in the 1970s, but personal tragedy and a heroin addiction left him penniless and dying from complications from AIDS. Known as salsa's bad boy, he had a crystal-clear voice and an incomparable talent for improvisation.

Picturehouse

Hot Rod

Rated: PG-13 for crude humor, language, some comic drug-related and violent content

Andy Samberg stars as an accident-prone daredevil who plans to jump Snake River on a moped in an effort to emulate his hero Evel Knievel and win over his hard-to-please stepfather (Ian McShane). Self-proclaimed stuntman Rod Taylor is preparing for the jump of his life. Rod plans to clear fifteen buses in an attempt to raise money for his abusive stepfather Frank's life-saving heart operation. He'll land the jump, get Frank better, and then fight him, hard.

Paramount Pictures

Blame it on Fidel

(Limited)

Rated: NONE

It is 1970 and Anna (Nina Kervel) is a whip-smart nine-year-old who excels in Catholic school and knows how to hold a knife and fork while cutting her fruit. She lives in a large house with father Fernando (Stefano Accorsi), a lawyer from a wealthy Spanish family; mother Marie (Julie Depardieu, daughter of Gerard), who writes for a popular French women's magazine, and younger brother Francois (Benjamin Feuillet). But her comfortable, orderly lifestyle is about to undergo a serious upheaval when her Communist aunt and cousin come to stay, having been smuggled out of Spain. After her parents return from a trip to Latin America, Anna's father is soon fighting to redistribute wealth in Chile, while her mother doggedly researches a book on women's abortion ordeals. Meanwhile, Anna, kicking and screaming, must adjust to a cramped new apartment filled with noisy revolutionaries, refugee nannies with weird cooking habits, and the humiliation of no longer being allowed to attend her beloved catechism class.

Koch Lorber Films

If I Didn't Care

(NY)

Rated: NONE

A Hitchcockian film noir/thriller set in the exclusive resort community of The Hamptons starring Bill Sage and Academy Award-nominee Roy Scheider (The French Connection, Jaws). The film tells the story of trophy husband David Meyers's ill-fated attempt to produce an heir that leads to infidelity, murder, and tragic consequences.

Artistic License Films

The Willow Tree

(NY)

Rated: NONE

Blind since childhood, Youssef has a devoted wife, loving daughter, and successful university career, but his affliction fills him with secret torment. As if in answer to his prayers, a Paris clinic restores his sight - a miracle that is double-edged. Although this new world of sight and color floods Youssef with ecstasy, it also plunges him into a labyrinth of confusions and temptations. A pretty student begins to eclipse his dowdy, previously invisible wife. In one disturbing scene, he silently watches a subway pickpocket, who fixes him with a look of withering complicity. Eager to claim the lost life he feels he is owed but unable to take the next step, Youssef is inflamed with possibility and paralyzed with egoism. Majidi fashions this story into a powerful parable of sight and insight, using Youssef¹s condition both as a resonant metaphor for life's second chances and as a source of breathtaking images seen through his reawakened eyes: a dazzling vista of snow-blanketed hills, a shower of molten gold sparks in a jewelry foundry, an array of lollipop lights behind a rain-speckled car window.

New Yorker Films

Cash

(Limited)

Rated: NONE

"Cash" is a high octane heist thriller set in Cape Town, South Africa. The film revolves around an ace con artist (Ajay Devgan) who hires a set of top notch robbers (Esha Deol, Zayed Khan, Dia Mirza and Ritesh Deshmukh) to steal a set of priceless diamonds in South Africa. The group also faces a threat from underworld don (Sunil Shetty), who is after the same diamonds and also the Head of Security (Shamita Shetty). How these three groups manage to thwart each other forms the rest of the story and makes it a nonstop adventure caper.
