to the forest, and started catching them. The man

they became harder to catch, so the villagers stopped
their effort.

" E. u7 C$ N9 Q; vannounced that he would now pay $20 for each  one. This renewed
the efforts of the villagers and they started catching monkeys
: ]! T5 ^5 N- `& m! [1 Kagain.   But soon the supply diminished even further and
they were ever harder to catch, so people started going back to
  {8 q& D3 c: E2 t" N9 Mtheir farms and forgot about monkey catching. The man increased his
price to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so
sparse that it was an effort to even see a monkey, much
4 x: w8 |& f$ \) K8 ^less catch one.

& m9 ~( {7 p: u# h1 d9 ?8 K2 Zannounced that he would buy monkeys for $50! However, since he had to
# g3 ?6 k8 e5 r4 h0 V; dgo to the city on some business, his assistant would now buy on his
( r6 b# O! S2 l1 ^: Tbehalf.

While the man
was away the assistant told the villagers. 'Look at all these monkeys
( x+ K. z3 `% tin the big cage that the man  has bought. I will sell them to
& t4 `" V+ l6 I! n/ H+ ~you at $35 each and when the man returns from the city, you can sell
2 @8 F% l3 G2 n2 ithem to him for $50 each.'

The villagers
, @" G& S5 O, \1 drounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys. They never
saw the man nor his assistant again and once again there were monkeys
everywhere.
